The first care service in Portugal by Obstetric Nurses without an appointment need.
Because there are doubts and situations that do not necessarily require visits to hospital emergency rooms but still have a significant impact on the pregnant woman or new parents, the Centro do Bebé has created the first Walk-in service in Portugal, without the need for an appointment, for situations that require immediate responses.
In a fully equipped room to provide care for the pregnant woman, fetal well-being monitoring through cardiotocography (CTG), and newborn observation, the Walk-in service operates daily from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM (last entry at 6:00 PM) in Lisbon and OPorto.
For the first time in Portugal, without the need for an appointment and in a fully equipped room to provide you with the best care, this service is available for:
For Pregnant Women
- Doubts or discomfort at any point during pregnancy
- Suspected amniotic fluid leakage from 36 weeks
- Suspected contractions from 36 weeks
- Need to check vital parameters, such as blood pressure
- Doubts about the onset of labor from 37 weeks
- CTG monitoring
For Postpartum Women (Puérperas)
- Changing surgical dressings
- Removal of staples or stitches after cesarean section or perineal suturing
- Doubts about lochia or physiological blood loss after childbirth
- Baby blues or emotional lability
- Questions about baby care and physical recovery after childbirth
For Breastfeeding Mothers
- Pain or difficulty with breastfeeding
- Breast engorgement or suspected mastitis
- Difficulty adapting the baby to the breast
- Nipple cracks or fissures
- Managing milk supply
For Newborns and Babies up to 2 Months
- Inconsolable crying
- Colic
- Heel prick test (Teste do Pezinho)
- Newborn assessment: regular weight checks, well-being, and concerns about the umbilical stump or other common issues during the first days
This service ensures that parents don’t have to make unnecessary trips to the emergency room or delay addressing concerns and complaints that can have an impact during the early days.
